Best Builders | The Best Way To Build

The Best Process

The first thing most people discover when they are looking to build a home, is that there’s no shortage of companies trying to get their business. It can begin to feel quite overwhelming, but keep in mind, that competition is a good thing. It raises the standards for the industry and allows you to receive quality products and services. While this keeps the industry in line, it is still always best to qualify your builder.

At Best Builders, our process puts you the customer first.

1

Initial Consultation

We consider the initial interview to be a qualifier for both the customer and the builder. You as the consumer will want to ask your builder certain questions to make sure you are receiving the best care.

Here are some examples of questions that you may want to ask:

  • Do you carry General Liability and Workers compensation insurance?
  • How long have you been in business?
  • Who will be supervising my project and how often will they be on the job site?

The builder will also be asking some qualifying questions, such as:

  • Do you have land to build on, or will we need us to assist in finding you a lot?
  • Do you have financing, or will you need assistance in financing?

Always choose a builder that you are comfortable with and who’s company profile matches your own.

At Best Builders, we work hard to create a stress free environment. We will do our Best to make sure that your building experience is a great one!

2

Design & Discovery

During this phase, we will get into the nitty gritty of how you want your dream home to look. We will sit down and do a design and discovery session to ensure we are understanding all of your wants and needs. We will meet with either your designer/architect or ours to help design your house plan, or make any changes to any existing plan that you have found. This process may take several sessions.

3

Bidding Process

This process generally takes two weeks. The builder will begin the estimation process of your home.    We send out your plans and specifications to our subs & suppliers for costs along with our in house cost breakdown. Once we have gathered all the information we put it proposal form and present you with a preliminary estimate for review. If agreed upon we convert it to a contract and begin the building process.

5

Final Walk Through

We are almost there! During this stage, we will do a thorough walk through with you to ensure that everything meets your standards. We will complete a punch list any any miscellaneous items that need to be completed. You will also be given a packet with all the instructions and operation manuals.

4

Construction Phase

Let the fun begin!!!

At this point, you will receive a job schedule that shows you dates of when tasks will start and complete. You will also receive a suppliers list. This is a list of our suppliers that we generally work with. This will assist you when you are making your selections for flooring, lighting fixtures, plumbing fixtures and so on.

During this stage, we will conduct bi-weekly job meetings (more if needed, less if not). This allows you to meet with your supervisor and review the job schedule, the selections, and ask any questions that you may have.
